One of the best things about beingĀ in the Film Industry is that every frame tells a story and every artist uses that frame to express their emotions.
Let me share a bit about myself.
HI, I'MĀ JIJO
and my journey in filmmaking has been driven by passion, dedication, and innovation. From Bollywood to Hollywood, I've always believed in the power of dreams and the relentless pursuit of excellence. With a BS in New Media and Interactive Technologies and an MFA in Films and Animation from the Rochester Institute of Technology, Iāve carved a niche for myself in the competitive realm of cinema, earning over two dozen awards across various film festivals and even receiving a nomination at Cannes 2024.
I see filmmaking as a magical blend of storytelling, technology, and emotion. My mission is to make the knowledge and practical aspects of filmmaking accessible to a wider audience. This belief has fueled my career and entrepreneurial ventures.
MY STORY
My career began as a Production Assistant at Illumination Entertainment (Universal Studios), contributing to the blockbuster film āThe Minions.ā This success led me to co-found AAJ Media Productions, operating in the US, India, and Singapore. Our productions, including short films, music videos have garnered over 30 nominations and awards at international film festivals such as the Madrid International Film Festival, London Lift-Off, and Cannes International Film Festival. Notably, I produced and directed India's first 2D animation movie for mature audiences, available on Amazon Prime and MX Player.
The journey wasn't without challenges. Moving from India to the US was a significant hurdle, but I overcame it with hard work and adaptability. My multicultural exposure and fluency in seven languages enriched my perspective. Leaving a well-paid job to start my own venture was tough, but my love for filmmaking kept me going.
My story is one of authenticity and perseverance, showing that with passion and purpose, one can master the art of storytelling through films.Ā
WHY DO I TEACH?
I always envisioned myself as a new and engaging teacher when it comes to films. Helping aspiring filmmakers achieve their dreams has always been my calling.Ā
My number one goal is to make new Filmmakers and to show them a path that has never been shown before.Ā
Filmmaking has always been difficult either because of money or either because of its vastness. Many people are taught the tools and the software. They're never taught the why.Ā
I am here to show you the WHY and give you a path and an order in the realm of the chaos that exists in Film.Ā
I am here to show you, guide you, be with you every step of your learning journey with personal critique sessions and development sessions that enhance your specific or generic passion in Film.Ā
